Last month our API has been made available for the travel hack-a-thon event THack London organised by Tnooz. Developers from around the world had 2 weeks to create something using different APIs.
One of the teams that used our API won the Thack London 2012 organised by tnooz. Congrats to the TripCommon Team. Their hack used the LocalGuiding API (see our Tour & Guide Data API documentation here) and others to help a group to find the cheapest, most interesting and most convenient place to travel.
At the event the LocalGuiding API was popular in use. Besides the winning team TripCommon, the guys from Data Art created Pintravlr – a hack that was about joining images from Pinterest with tours nearby from LocalGuiding.
Andrew Tipton one of the participating developers at the Thack Event liked to work with the LocalGuiding API:
“… it was very easy to work with. I was also impressed with how quickly you were able to add additional data fields during the THack event. I think you guys have some of the best local activity content out there, and will definitely be keeping you in mind in the future.”
Thanks to all the developers who used our API – you guys rock!!!
