Dubrovnik - Pearl of the Adriatic. It is not for nothing that when people talk about the city of Dubrovnik, they reverentially refer to it as the "Pearl of the Adriatic". Situated in the very south of Croatia, the city with its numerous red roofs enchants the visitors who crowd the city in summer. Since 1979, the old town, which is completely car-free, has been a Unesco World Heritage Site. Dubrovnik is inhabited by about 44.000 inhabitants and is divided into 4 districts: Ploče (old town), Gruž, Lapad and Babin Kun.
Dubrovnik captivates above all with its trendy little pubs, bars and cafés. This is where "the beautiful" and "the rich" meet. There are also various clubs, many of which belong to the respective hotels.
One should not miss a walk on the city wall, even if a fee is charged for it. From here you have a great view into the streets and roof gardens of the city. Stradun, Prince's Palace as well as other beautiful churches and the supposedly oldest pharmacy in Europe should also be visited.

The tourist traps
Dubrovnik is anything but cheap. Since the city is overflowing with holidaymakers especially in summer, there are also overpriced souvenirs and restaurants that are not worth your money.
