What would Hamburg be without St. Pauli and the Reeperbahn? The trendy neighbourhood is one of the city's landmarks and attracts millions of people to the sinful mile every year. A Kieztour is worthwhile in summer and winter. In the warm months, you can relax in the sun at one of the cosy tables on Hans-Albers-Platz, at Christmas time you can commute across the Christmas market in the neighbourhood and on New Year's Eve the numerous pubs, bars and clubs invite you to exuberant parties. Hans-Albers already determined the ideal time of day for a visit: "On the Reeperbahn, at night at half past one". We recommend visiting St. Pauli and the Reeperbahn at night.
A Reeperbahn tour usually lasts between two to three hours. Those who take part in a tour of St. Pauli experience the Kiez exactly as it is. Exciting, a little grubby here and there, hilarious. Learn a lot of exciting things about St. Pauli and the Hamburg neighbourhood, party in the coolest clubs and discover the corners of the neighbourhood to which you would probably never have been allowed access without an escort. After the tour over the Reeperbahn, one of course knows which club to visit for an extended party night. At least for a cool blonde one should make a side trip to one of the traditional pubs. And after the tour? Of course we will continue to celebrate!
Of course, you can find your way around St. Pauli without a guide. But with real neighborhood boys and Hamburg girls, it's twice as much fun. They guide you over sinful mile and provide you with knowledge about Hamburg's trendy district that makes your ears prick up. They are not only observers, but right in the middle of the action. The guided tour on the Reeperbahn is not an ordinary city tour, but much more an adventure tour through the Hamburg district. Especially the stag party on the Reeperbahn we will have an unforgettable party with a guide.
A visit to the Reeperbahn is basically absolutely free of charge, but as soon as you enter a club, pub or strip club like the Dollhouse, you often have to dig deep into your pocket. Especially the regular live shows in the clubs on the Reeperbahn can become a cost trap for tourists. An absolute must is to check the prices before entering the clubs or bars. Who wants to pay 10,00€ for a beer? So keep an eye out in the rip-off jungle and bait shops.
The Reeperbahn does not only consist of brothels and strip clubs, quite the contrary. In and around the trendy neighbourhood you will find great pubs, good restaurants (on the street Reeperbahn itself - not on the street Reeperbahn there is usually only fast food), theatres and many other sights. If they are travelling as a couple, you should definitely go to Spielbudenplatz. Here, various theatres offer a choice of comedy, exclusive travesty and cabaret performances, stylish and mostly at moderate prices.
The Reeperbahn is Hamburg's most famous street and is located absolutely centrally in the St. Pauli district, between Millerntor and Landungsbrücken. It is not advisable to travel by car, because the parking lots near the neighborhood are either very expensive. The quickest and at the same time most uncomplicated way to reach the Reeperbahn is by taking the S-Bahn lines S1, S2 and S3 and the U-Bahn U3, or simply on foot. The walk from the landing stages takes only about 10 minutes.
A guided tour with an insider neighbourhood legend is an absolute highlight of a tour of the Reeperbahn. Inkasso-Henry, for example, likes to talk out of the blue and has many funny and exciting anecdotes to tell about the trendy neighbourhood. Along the way you will get to know the Reeperbahn from its beautiful and shady sides and get answers to questions you don't dare ask. Tours with Olivia or a neighborhood tour in Olivia's footsteps are also part of particularly corpulent Reeperbahn tours.
The powder keg is one of the neighbourhood institutions that is always worth a visit. Travesty and cabaret, sexy stage shows, you can expect, among other things, when you visit St. Pauli. The performances run every day (except Tuesdays) at 20:00 and 23:00. At the weekend there is an extra show at 2:30 am. For last-minute bookings there are still remaining tickets available at the box office from 17:00. Especially recommended: Dinner & Show! The food is really good!
The Ritze, probably the most famous pub near Beatles Square, is known by many people especially for its entrance doors, which are decorated by the spread legs of a woman. Inside it is rather cosy and you get freshly tapped beer at moderate prices. In the cellar of the Ritze is a boxing ring, in which even Wladimir Klitschko has trained. Don't be put off by the entrance, a visit is one of the absolute highlights on the Reeperbahn, because in the Ritze you will also meet one or the other neighbourhood legend.
The great freedom is the party street par excellence on the Reeperbahn. Especially the club Große Freiheit 36, is a mega highlight. Besides the usual parties, there are great concerts of famous artists, which can be attended by up to 1500 people. The Beatles had their first "big" appearance at Große Freiheit 64, today's Indra music club, before they were drawn to the stages of the big world.
The Davidwache is probably the most famous and at the same time the smallest police station in Europe. A visit to the station should not be missed on any Kieztour. The Davidwache is an absolute must on the Reeperbahn. With an area of around 0.9 km², the officers' precinct is just twice as large as a conventional football field. The famous police station has been the scene of several cinema and TV productions. As interesting as the Davidwache is, you certainly don't want to stay overnight here. So on your nightly ramble through the neighbourhood always stay well-behaved. For example, glass counterfeiting is prohibited on the Reeperbahn.
