Ms Cederqvist did inform our group in Stockholm very competently and humorously about the history and showed us the beauty of the old town "Gamla Stan".

Stockholm was founded in the beginning of the 13th century on a strategic island, called Gamla Stan. The city is now spread on 14 islands, nicely located at the Baltic Sea, the freshwater Lake Mälaren and the Stockholm Archipelago, consisting of 30 000 islands.
Gamla Stan is a natural place to visit during your stay in Stockholm. Here you’ll find the most historic buildings and places, as e.g. the Royal Palace, the Cathedral, the House of Nobility, the main square Stortorget and Stockholm’s oldest street Köpmangatan.
Gamla Stan consists of narrow alleys with well-kept ancient houses, cozy restaurants, cafés and small souvenir shops, offering much of the well-known Swedish design and handicraft.
A major attraction is the daily changing of the Royal Guards – a tradition dating back to the king Gustav Vasa, beginning of the 16th century.
This tour is planned for 2 hours, but can easily be prolonged with a guided tour in the Royal Palace, the Cathedral or combined with the City Tour.
