You will be escorted to Rome by bus with a coach assistant of Civita Tours to the start the tour where your professional and licensed guide is waiting for you.
Our Civita Tours guide will take you around to discover the untold traditions and art of the most important monuments while making your visit unforgettable.
Once boarded the coach, you will have a ride to the centre of Rome. The coach will leave you just a stone away from the Palazzaccio (Justice Palace) at Piazza dei Tribunali. A beauty of building designed by the Italian architect Calderini in 1889.
Then your guide will take you to St. Angel Castle to look at the grandest fortress ever built in Rome in honor of Hadrian Emperor that once was his tomb.
Carry on walking along the Via Conciliazione where you will appreciate the perfect perspective view of St. Peter's Basilica and its magnificent square surrounded by the famous colonnades designed by Bernini in 1656.
Crossing the River Tiber, we will be reaching Venice Square, the geographical centre of Rome, with its majestic monument to the 1st King of Italy and the Imperial Forum. Before reaching other monuments of Rome, we will pass beside the most famous Capitoline Hill designed by the master of all masters, Michelangelo. Not to leave behind, the fabulous St. Mary of Aracoeli basilica.
Along the ride, you will have a fantastic opportunity to look at the Marcello Theatre commissioned by Augustus the Emperor, but the most unique feature is on top of this ancient building.
You will be able to see one of the residency of the Pamphjli family, one of the most powerful and important families in Rome that aimed and reached the papacy.
Driving along, you will see the Boario Forum where the Temple of Portuno and Temple of Hercules are located - two of the finest small temples situated in the centre of Rome.
Your guide also will point you out where to look for the Basilica of St. Mary in Cosmedin with its huge bell tower and the Mouth of Truth about which the legend says that, if you have you hand inside of it and you are telling a lie, the mouth will bite your fingers off.
Leaving behind the Mouth of the Truth monument, we visit the Circus Maximus, the biggest stadium ever built in the ancient Rome that held the race of the Chariots and could hold up to 250.000 guests.
At this point, you have terminated the Ancient Rome side of this unique tours.
Getting on the coach with your guide, we will heading to the Baroque side of the city where you will truly appreciate the 16th, 17th, 18th centuries that made Rome modern for its time.
Starting with the fabulous Trevi Fountain designed originally by Bernini, but the works were never carried out due to the death of Pope Urban VIII. The precious Architect Nicola Salvi started the works of this unique fountain that made Rome even more famous to the world.
We will then stop for lunch. You will have approx. 30/40 minutes time to have lunch or an ice-cream.
We then continue to the Pantheon, the greatest pagan temple made 2000 years ago and still standing today. The imposing dome with its opening at the top will blow your mind and feast your eyes for the perfect harmony.
Finish off with what once was called the Stadium of Domitian, Piazza Navona, where the greatest architects of the 17th century Bernini and Borromini, always in competition, reached their highest perfection with the Church of St. Agnes in Agone designed and built by Borromini and the masterpiece of Bernini, the Four River Fountain.
