A romantic walking tour during sunset through the most important squares of Rome. The warm light of the evening sun and the amazing view of Rome are the protagonists of this tour. Discover the Piazzas of Rome with your personal guide who will tell you all the facts and stories about these places during the centuries.
A closer look at the Santa Maria del Popolo Church with its dark side will clear your thoughts of why this church, once an ancient chapel, was largely extended as it is today.
The Piazza del Popolo was subject to many changes in its history. What was once, a rectangular square used for popular games and public executions, today is a lively space used as public space and concert location. The design as it is today, was carried out by the architect Valadier and terminated in 1815.
Continuing the tour we will walk up to the Pincio Terrace where you will be able to enjoy a fabulous view over the rooftops of Rome on sunset light.
The next station of the tour will be the Spanish Steps. Here we'll be getting the feeling of the upper class of the 18th century. Once arrived at the bottom of it, your eyes will be amazed by the Barcaccia Fountain designed by the father of Gianlorenzo Bernini who also left a mark on this fantastic piece himself.
Going down the streets, we will reach the Trevi Fountain. The legend says that you must throw a coin while making a wish.
Keeping up the excited mood of this lively tour, we will head towards the Piazza della Rotonda which is dominated by the Pantheon, a famous ancient Temple. Built in the Roman period, the Pantheon was dedicated to all Gods.
Moving down the alleys, Piazza Navona will be the next square. Originally an amphitheatre to be used for games and competitive sports. Today Piazza Navona is the centre of Rome's Dolce Vita with its wonderful Four River Fountain designed by the master of all, Bernini. Not to miss out the lovely St. Agnes Church created by the competitor of Bernini, Francesco Borromini.
Our tour ends at the Campo de' Fiori Square, where the Papal old town was located in the late middle ages. The sculpture of Bruno Giordano at the centre holds a dark side. Your guide will unwrap the brutality of the prosecution of this personage of the 16th century.
