Starting at Piazza Navona your personal guide will introduce you to the fabulous location and explain its ancient history, far beyond the 21st century's Dolce Vita.
As you walk across the beautiful square and enter the stunning underground, you will reach the first and most-important stadium ever created as a gift to the people of Rome. The building – commissioned by Emperor Titus Flavius Domitian in ~80 AC. – was mostly used for athletic contest.
Back on street level, your Rome-guide will lead you to the Pantheon, where you can learn more about the true historic background, as well as the political details of this magnificent building.
On the second part of the expedition you will see what the original street level of ancient Rome looked like as you peek down about 5 meters from the Hadrian's Temple to discover the layers of streets from past times.
Admire the beautiful Trevi Fountain where you can make a wish by throwing a coin. But don't forget that there is another world to discover underneath your feet. Before we reach the secrets lying beneath Rome, you will learn about the interesting history and mythology of the sculptures that made this masterpiece as famous as it is today.
Safe the best for last: You will explore the secret underground City of Water, the Vicus Caprarius. Enter one of the most fascinating archeological sights. In ancient times this area was a small swamp, which was connected to the Virgo aqueduct, that still supplies the famous fountains – including the Trevi Fountain – with water today.
