The Peruvian mainland was inhabited by South American natives before the arrival of the Spanish conquistadors and the Incas. These were especially characterized by their agriculture and culture, with which they resembled the Incas very much. They ruled there some time later and cultivated their own traditions and the sun cult known to their people. Human sacrifices on special occasions and animal sacrifices in honour of the sun god, Inti, were not uncommon. Their empire stretched from today's Ecuador to far south to Chile and Argentina

This tour through the historical periods of Lima gives you a first insight into the pre-Columbian, colonial and modern details of the capital of Peru. The "Huaca Pucllana" pyramids, made of adobe bricks, are evidence of pre-Columbian times. This was used by the Peruvian natives of the culture Lima as a cemetery and storage place

To better understand the period of colonization, the pre-Inca culture and the following Inca empire, visit the museum "Banco Central de Reserva", where you will get a historical overview of the ancestors of the Peruvian culture. In the museum "San Francisco Convent" you will find both old and new architecture The tour ends with a walk through the streets of Lima.
