Description

No city trip to London is complete without seeing Westminster Abbey, The House of Parliament and the famous Big Ben!

During this tour you will learn about the political institutions of the United Kingdom and the role and function of members of parliament, government and officials. Also discover how and for what purpose the Elizabeth Tower, whose heaviest bell is called Big Ben, was built and what the Voice of Britain is all about.

The tour starts directly at the meeting point, the entrance to Westminster Abbey, at 9:15 am. Its fine, stained glass windows will impress you as much as the past of the majestic church. Afterwards you will see the British Parliament, consisting of the House of Lords and House of Commons, at around 11:30 am. Its magnificent façade alone is already a fantastic sight. The rich decorations and royal figures are reflected on the nearby water surface. The palace façade is complemented by the old Victoria Tower, the highest of the four towers. In 1987, Westminster Palace was officially declared a World Heritage Site.

Then learn all about the Victoria Tower, popularly known as Big Ben, and its architectural development from the first medieval bell tower to its current design. You will learn what the Big Ben is all about, which has become a symbol of the city and is known far beyond England
