Belgrade, the only city of the former Yugoslavia with more than a million inhabitants. Situated on two major rivers, the Sava and the Danube, Belgrade is a lively and colourful city. Due to its turbulent (110 times attacked, 42 times conquered and rebuilt), but also open migrant history (approx. 4000 ethnic German citizens at the end of the 19th century), it still reflects many of its historical epochs. In a certain sense Belgrade represents a Yugoslavia in miniature - its people!

During a leisurely 2.5 hour walk you will get to know the most important sights of the city. This will give you an insight into the turbulent and colourful history. But also a true picture of the present - because, as is often typical for the Balkans, the picture on the streets does not really reflect the real life of the citizens. Low salaries, but crowded cafes? How does that fit together? After this tour you will be able to understand and classify these and many other characteristics of lifestyle and charm much better.

The highlight of a tour in Belgrade is always a visit to the fortress and park. Only there you will see why Belgrade is unique! Rarely does a city lie on two large rivers. Belgrade is often called the "Gateway to the Balkans", and the breathtaking views of the whole city from this gate invite you to dream.
