In the past it has been the social and sporting center of Constantinople and various chariot races took place here. Today, you can admire a few relicts remaining from the original structure. Highlight is the visit of the Blue Mosque, a truly magnificent masterpiece of Ottomans with amazing proportions. It is still the second largest mosque in Istanbul and adorned with more than 20.000 handmade tiles.
You continue your city walk till you reach the Basilica Cistern, the former underground water reserve of the Romans. At the Grand Bazaar, the largest and oldest market of Istanbul with over 4000 shops you have the chance to go shopping or buy all kinds of souvenirs for your friends and family.
The tour stops after a visit of Topkapı Palace, which has been the seat of the Ottoman sultans for centuries. Admire the wealth with their thrones, harems, swords and jewelries, before the tour comes to an end. Your guide may accompany you to your hotel.
