Your experience

  • Explore the beautiful city of Cuernavaca, the "city of eternal spring"
  • Visit one of the oldest churches in the country
  • Experience the unique flair of Taxco

The excursion starts in the center of Mexico City from where you will be taken to Cuernavaca, the "City of Eternal Spring". The city bears this nickname because of its warm, mild climate and is located in the middle of the Mexican highlands. Of particular interest here are the gorges that furrow the city and fill with white water during the rainy season. From district to district, you can get from one part of the city to the next by means of bridges that cross the gorges, but there are only a few of these.

See one of the oldest churches in the country, the Catedral de la Asunción de María, in this fascinating city. It dates back to the 16th century and has been included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is also the seat of the Roman Catholic diocese of Cuernavaca. We continue on to the Palacio Cortés, which was built at the time of the conquest of Mexico as the residence of Hernán Cortés and today is a museum about the history of Morelo. Here are murals by the famous Mexican painter Diego Rivera. Finally, you will see the famous statue of José María Morelos, one of the most important leaders in the war for Mexican independence and eponym of the State of Morelos

Afterwards we continue to Taxco, a city that is particularly marked by the colonial period and has a history of centuries. It is situated on the slope of a hill and impresses with a special, ancient atmosphere with its cobblestone streets, its tiled roofs and its cosy squares. You will also see one of the most famous churches in America, the Santa Prisca. It is one of the largest churches in Mexico and was built in 1759 by the Frenchman Jose de la Borda, who owned several silver mines in Texco. The city is known worldwide for its high quality silver and the many shops selling silverware. Here you can admire works by Mexican artists and, if you wish, you can also buy them
