Discover the hidden places of Chiang Mai on this relaxing, cultural and educational half-day tour. Go to remote paths and places where old traditions live on.

The route takes you along quiet and green country roads past the historic settlement of Wiang Kum Kam, which was founded by King Mengrai in 1286. Here you will visit impressive ruins, the origin of which goes back hundreds of years. During a stopover at a temple, your guide will tell you interesting facts about the construction and Buddhism in general. You will also visit a former leper colony that was once cut off from the outside world and now serves as a rehabilitation centre for people with many types of physical disabilities.

They continue the bicycle tour and visit a primary school, which is mainly attended by mountain dwellers. The ancient Lanna Empire produced some of the finest ceramics ever made. Even today the northern region is still the most important center of the Thai ceramics industry. Immerse yourself in the art of this craft in a small pottery workshop and observe how the craftsmen make various forms of pottery by hand.

Then drive along the Ping River and enjoy the unique atmosphere that makes Chiang Mai so special. In a local bakery you will taste a sweet roll while watching the employees making other products. Stroll around the local market and take the opportunity to sample some of the most delicious and exotic fruits and other snacks. Halfway along the tour you will be offered a small Thai menu (Khao Soy Kai) in a local restaurant for refreshment
