The special thing about the Metropolitan Museum of Art is the vastness of its collection. During an exactly planned itinernary you'll experience a variety of artifacts, art, sculptures and even architecture in a short period of time. Travel around the world and admire the most impressive masterpieces, accompanied by an an expert guide.
In a small group of maximum 15 people you'll first visit Ancient Egypt and marvel at Egyptian tomb models. Learn about the fascinating and partly scary rituals of the era before stopping at one of the museums real treasures. The Temple of Dendur is an ancient Egypt temple and a magnificent work. Then your guide will show you two pieces there are some rumors about. Listen to the explanations about the armor of Britain’s infamous King Henry VIII, and the Antioch Chalice, considered by some as the ‘The Holy Grail' itself.
In the Greek and Roman area you'll see more ancient works like statues and frescoes. Then you'll continue with more exotic exhibits. Later you'll marvel at Claude Monet’s famous Water Lilies and be impressed by the expressive works of Vincent Van Gogh. The tour concludes at the rooftop garden, where you'll enjoy the view of the Central Park framed by the city skyline.
Please be aware that the Met rooftop is closed during winter (November – April) and reopens from early may to the end of October depending on the weather.
The Temple of Dendur is occasionally rented out for private events without advance notice. In this case, its visit will be replaced with other works from the Egyptian collection.
