Gaze at the fascinating art collection of Galleria Borghese and visit one of Italy's most interesting museums. The art collection of the wealthy Borghese family was once housed in their private villa. As the collection became too big, it was moved into a seperate building, the Galleria Borghese. Take a walk around the museum that includes twenty rooms across two floors.
The main floor is mainly devoted to classical antiquites of the 1st-3rd centuries. Marvel at the famous mosaic of gladiators found on the estate and neo-classical sculptures such as Venus Victrix. Moreover, you can see Roman floor mosaics and frescoes. Artistic highlights include Bernini's sculpture of David and Rape of Proserpina.
At the first floor, this amazing collection boasts paintings of great masters such as Caravaggio, Raphael and Titan. A visit to Borghese Gallery gives you a great overview of Renaissance art and masterpieces from Renaissance masters. Get some rare timed entrance tickets that usually aren't available on the day and sell out quickly.
