Description

The famous Rembrandt House got its name from the fact that the master painter Rembrandt van Rijn ran the largest atelier in the country here until he lost it due to bankruptcy. Today this original place has been transformed into a museum where you can experience the drawings and etchings of one of the greatest artists of all time in the place where they were created. The house has been furnished with objects and furniture from that time, so you have the chance to dive deeper into the 17th century.

From 1639 to 1658 Rembrandt himself lived and worked in the beautiful building. Today the Rembrandt House houses an almost complete collection of Rembrandt's etchings. You can marvel at a selection of this collection, which is permanently on display in the exhibition gallery.

You will also stroll through the changing exhibitions, which will give you an impression of the work of his companions and contemporaries. There is also a fascinating collection of Rembrandt's possessions, including outstanding pieces such as military helmets, weapons and busts. In contrast, the modern wing of the museum is dedicated to contemporary art
