Your experience

Description

The old centre is one of the highlights of Europe. In the 17th century, Amsterdam was a world power and the sheer richness created a beautiful, very well-preserved old town.

The tour leads us from the medieval centre, along the residues of the old city walls and the famous canals, through China Town and the former Jewish quarter and not to forget to the red light district.

Amsterdam is a nearly impossible city. Around 1200 there had only been mire, everything bogged down. The harbour was not directly accessible. There was no connection to the North Sea, but many sandbars. But nevertheless, Amsterdam became a very important city and even came to be one of the most important trade metropolises of the world as well as a centre of science and culture. With 200.000 inhabitants, since 1650, Amsterdam has been the third-biggest city of Europe. How did that happen?

During this tour you will get to know the history of the city. Our tours are light and casual, but also knowledgeable.

Inspite of the rain, it was a great and varied tour. Thank you for that.
