Your experience

  • Get to know different Venetian handicraft traditions
  • Learn more about the history of perfume
  • Look at fashion from times gone by

The textile tour of Venice allows you to immerse yourself in the Venetian handicraft tradition. During the morning you will visit three different places closely linked to the Venetian handicraft tradition. The first stop on the tour will be an old weaving mill, whose foundation dates back to the end of the 19th century. Inside the building you will find original looms from the 18th century. The velvet and brocade of the Venetian weaving mill is famous all over the world. The traditional weaving mill is responsible for the furnishing of important palaces and cooperates with important fashion houses

The second station is the Palazzo Mocenigo, in which there is today a museum for fashion, fabrics and perfume. Take a look at the exhibits in the Piano nobile and admire Venetian fashion from the 17th and 18th centuries. Garments and accessories document the refinement and taste of past centuries. A more recent section of the Palazzo Mocenigo is dedicated to the history of perfume production

Find out more about perfumery and the city's role in the history of perfume. At different stations you can make your own odour experiences After visiting the museum you have the chance to see a truly unique shop. Explore an old roasting house that Giacomo Casanova once visited, as a plaque on the wall testifies. Discover the unique interior design of the shop. When you enter the shop, you are surrounded by special furniture
