Description

Join a day trip to the holy city of Teotihuacan, located around 50km northeast of Mexico City. Teotihuacan once was one of the most powerful cultural centres in Mesoamerica and is characterized by its vast size of important monuments. Discover the complex of awesome pyramids including the famous Pyramid of the Sun and Pyramid of the Moon, which dominate the remains of the metropolis.

Walk along the Avenue of the Dead to arrive at the 63-metre-high Pyramid of the Sun and the 48-metre-high Pyramid of the Moon. Along the southern part of the avenue lies the Ciudadela, a large square courtyard. Within the Citadel stands the Temple of Quetzalcoatl (the Feathered Serpent). After visiting the ruins of Teotihuacan, you will continue your way to the Tlatelolco neighbourhood of Mexico City. Stroll around the Plaza de las Tres Culturas which is a recognition of the three periods of Mexican history reflected by the buildings of the plaza.

In the heart of Mexico City’s Centro Historico District, the ancient Aztec capital city of Tenochtitlan, lies the ruins of Templo Mayor. Afterwards you will pay a visit to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, a Roman Catholic church in the north of Mexico City. Explore the place which is a central place of worship for Mexico’s patron saint and the home of the image responsible for uniting pre-Hispanic Indian mysticism with Catholic beliefs. During the whole tour you will be accompanied by a certified expert guide who will advise you and teach you the richness of prehispanic culture.
