Description

Get the best of America's history in this incredible museum and library that houses the finest American art, sculptures, drawings, textiles and more! The new Center of Women's History, is a fascinating look at the power of women in society, past and present.

The Center of Women's History, is the first permanent, public exhibition and educational center in the country dedicated to the history of women. Learn how women came to wield power and bring about change in the US and the world before they could vote.

Read over 2,500 American portraits, genre scenes and landscapes in the painting section, as well as sculptures from the colonial era. The drawings have been here since 1816 and are thus the oldest public collection of drawings in the country.

George Washington's opening chair and a chair from Marie Antoinette's private rooms in Versailles are just two of over 500 items in the extensive furniture collection.

In the textile section you will see flags waved in every major conflict with American presence between the Revolutionary War and the Second World War. Current exhibitions
