Your experience

Description

Visit one of the most important places in Polish history and a true cultural treasure, the Royal Cathedral of Wawel. The Gothic style church is picturesquely situated on Wawel Hill, surrounded by medieval castle walls. The over 900-year-old building is a Polish national sanctuary and traditionally served as the coronation site of the Polish monarchs.

Learn about the repeated destruction and reconstruction of the church on a tour with an audio guide. With the cathedral they discover the place that witnessed the most important events of the Polish nation. Immediately afterwards you visit the Sigismund Tower, location of one of Poland's largest church bell systems, the Sigismund Bell. From the tower you enjoy breathtaking views of the old town.

Later you walk to the chapels and burial chambers, which are the post burial site of the Polish heads of state and government. At the end of the visit, you will have the opportunity to spend some time in the Museum of John Paul II, which is rich in important exhibits.
