Angry eruptions and terrible gas? No, this is not about the effects of an unpleasant meal - just an excursion to Vesuvius! Leave Pompeii or Naples and enter the Vesuvius National Park, where you climb the slopes of the world's most famous volcano with an experienced guide!
This monolithic Somma-Stratovolcano is still considered one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world - another eruption would affect almost 3,000,000 people living nearby. But don't worry, the last eruption of Vesuvius was in 1944.
Walk through the lunar landscape and watch the slope slide down to the Gulf of Naples. Due to the current maintenance work you can't walk around the crater, but you can still get very close. See and smell the magma of the earth and all the minerals that form the rock and produce amazing colors.
Bring your camera to take incredible pictures of the Somma volcano and wear warm clothes - it gets cool up there!
