Our Complete Vatican Tour is designed to give you a unique understanding of the history and world-class art collection of the Vatican.
Enjoy priority entrance to the Vatican Museums with pre-booked group tickets and save yourself hours of waiting.
Enjoy our specially designed route that shows you all the works you know you want to see and some surprises you wouldn't have expected. Stops are the Raphael rooms, Apollo Belvedere and Laocoön and Sons, the Court of the Pine Cone, the Gallery of the Candelabra, the Map Gallery and the Gallery of Tapestries.
Marvel at Michelangelo's frescoes and paintings in the Sistine Chapel and learn the incredible stories behind them.
Visit St. Peter's Basilica and admire Bernini's bronze canopy and Michelangelo's "Pietà" and other incredible masterpieces.
We start by skipping the (always long) queues to get into the museum and dive directly into the galleries with some of the most famous works of art in the world. Our specially designed route includes all the conspicuous pieces and also includes some of the lesser-known works that will really inspire you. Your expert English-speaking guide will give you insight and context (along with some great stories) as you explore the Raphael Rooms, the Belvedere Farm with Apollo Belvedere & the Laocoön Group, the Pine Cone Farm, the Gallery of Candelabras, the Gallery of Maps and the Gallery of Tapestries.
The piéce-de-resistance is of course the Sistine Chapel. Your guide will prepare you for your time here by telling you the stories behind the creation of the iconic frescoes and what they mean. When you enter, you will appreciate the full size of the room by seeing small details like Michelangelo's self-portrait and the rather painful revenge he planned for the Pope's helper (he was not his biggest fan....).
Finally, we exchange the artistic masterpieces of the Vatican Museums for the architectural masterpiece of St. Peter's Basilica. Traveling with a licensed guide has its advantages, as you will learn using the special door leading from the Sistine Chapel directly to the Basilica (and past long general access lines).
But it is worth every second you are there, as you will see on a 1-hour tour with your guide. He takes you to Michelangelo's Pietà (the only work he has ever had to sign: your guide will tell you why), to Bernini's soaring Baldacchino altar and to the worn feet of St. Peter that the pilgrims rub for happiness.
While many tour operators include 25 or more people in their Vatican trips, we will never bring you together with a group of more than 15 people. We have a passion for the Vatican and want to share this passion with you in private groups led by the most dedicated and experienced Vatican leaders.
Tips for guides are welcome, but never obligatory.
Please note that the meeting time is 15 minutes before the start of the tour. No refunds or re-booking in case of late arrival or non-appearance after the start or departure of the tour.
Please remember that the Sistine Chapel is a sacred place and clothing must be appropriate for the visit. Both men and women are asked to wear clothes that cover at least their shoulders and knees.
We would like to inform our customers that the St. Peter Basilica may be closed during special celebrations, including the Easter celebrations. If this happens during your visit, we will spend more time in the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museums. We cannot provide a refund in this case.
Although the Vatican Museums are equipped with lifts for wheelchair users and prams, they are not on the group tour and only offer access to certain areas of the museums. For this reason, we cannot accommodate wheelchairs on our group trips in the Vatican.
Please note that guests are only allowed to carry small handbags in the Vatican Museums. Larger backpacks etc. must be left at the cloakroom. It is the guest's responsibility to return to the entrance of the Vatican Museum to pick it up after the guided tour.
