This is an express tour for those who have little time but do not want to do without the quality of their experience. You can avoid the crowds by walking through the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Church in the early morning and experience these incredible places in relative peace. It is the perfect tour for whistle-stop travelers or families travelling with children.
Your tour starts 30 minutes before the official entrance. Before entering the Vatican Museums, your guide will give each guest a description of each of the key works of the Sistine Chapel. On this basis, your guide will inform you about some of the subtleties of Michelangelo's frescoes and give you some tips on what to look out for. Then we go to the Sistine Chapel.
After 30 minutes of admiring Michelangelo's world-famous works, your group gathers at the bottom of the room, where a special door gives you direct access to St. Peter's Church. It is only open to groups, which saves you hours of waiting in the long security queues that form in front of the main entrance to the basilica.
Your guide will give you another introduction to the masterpieces you will see - from Bernini's canopy to Michelangelo's "Pieta". After that you have time to explore the Basilica of St. Peter on your own.
We never do this tour with more than 20 people per group, so that you can always count on the help and information of your experienced English speaking guide. If you want to see the highlights of the Vatican but don't have 3 - 4 hours, this is the easiest and most stress-free way to do it.
Tips for guides are welcome, but never obligatory.
Please note that the meeting time is 15 minutes before the start time. There is no refund or rebooking for late arrival or non-appearance after the start of the tour.
Please remember that the Sistine Chapel is a sacred place and clothing must be appropriate for the visit. Both men and women are asked to wear clothes that cover at least their shoulders and knees.
We would like to inform our customers that the Basilica of St. Peter may be closed during special celebrations, including the Easter celebrations. If this happens during your visit, we will spend more time in the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican Museums. We cannot provide a refund in this case.
Although the Vatican Museums are equipped with lifts for wheelchair users and prams, they only offer access to certain areas of the museums. For this reason, we cannot accommodate wheelchairs on our group trips in the Vatican.
Please note that guests are only allowed to carry small handbags in the Vatican Museums. Larger backpacks and big pointy umbrellas etc. must be left at the cloakroom. It is the guest's responsibility to return to the entrance of the Vatican Museum to pick it up after the guided tour.
Please ensure that all members of your party have a valid ID on them on the day of the visit. This is particularly important for guests who have qualified for child reduction.
