Description

You only have one day to see all the top attractions in Venice? Our Venice In a Day Tour takes you to all the top attractions accompanied by the best guides in town.

Start your day early in the morning on the Rialto Bridge before the many tourists arrive. After meeting your local Venetian guide and seeing some of the most important places there, head to the Rialto Fish Market to learn more about the city's rich culinary history, get restaurant recommendations and see how the cooks and mamas of Venice prepare their food.

Continue to the most authentic and atmospheric districts of Venice for a leisurely walk that will familiarize you with the city at street level. On the way you will see the home of Marco Polo, the Venetian merchant who brought Europe its first report on China, discover how the "Church of Wonders" got its name - and much more!

But it's not just about walking. Venice is situated both in the sea and on land, so you board a gondola (max. 6 people per gondola) for a relaxing, all-embracing trip through the world-famous canals. Considering that independent trips usually cost around 80 euros, this is a bargain.

After getting out it is time for a serious historical and artistic exploration. In the Basilica of St. Mark you can see the beautiful art and mosaics inside, while hearing the incredible story of Venice winning (and in some cases plundering) its treasures.

Then we continue to the Doge's Palace, which was the centre of the maritime empire of Venice for centuries. As you walk through the corridors of power, your guide will inform you about all the skull fractures taking place behind the scenes, from Casanova's prison escape to the Duke whose face has been blackened from every portrait and painting.

With our experienced English-speaking local guides and small groups of 15 or fewer people you will see a side of Venice that few visitors will ever experience. We take you under the surface of what is perhaps the most unique city in the world and show you the rich culture and history that lies beneath and is just waiting to be discovered.
