Meet a local, expert guide who will show you around Florence, getting you familiar with the most important streets and piazzas, plus the history and culture.
Welcome to Florence Orientation Tour in a small group with a local guide.
Visit some of the most beautiful places of Florence and learn more about its history and culture.
Explore the hidden jewels of the city and taste the best ice cream.
Florence is one of the most accessible cities in Italy, but it is also full of hidden jewels and unexpected neighbourhoods that are difficult to discover without a small local tour. This tour is designed to help you find your way around the city and take you beyond the tourist resorts to the authentic Florence you will fall in love with.
You will meet your local guide and a small group of 15 people to start your tour at 5pm in the centre of Florence. From there you will explore Dante's old quarter, marvel at the huge dome of Florence Cathedral and take a break at Michelangelo's house and the beautiful church of Santa Croce. You will also pass the world-famous market of Sant'Ambrogio - a place where all serious gourmets return at least once for lunch during their stay.
Next, stop in Piazza della Signoria to admire the many statues that adorn it, including the famous replica of Michelangelo's David. The Palazzo Vecchio, seat of the government of Florence during the Renaissance and still one of the most impressive buildings of the city, makes you step into the shade.
From there we cross the Ponte Vecchio Bridge to our favourite neighbourhood, Oltrarno, to see where the locals eat and stay. You will also discover less visited jewels such as Palazzo Pitti and Piazza Santo Spirito, as well as the birthplace and portrait of Lisa Gherardini, the woman who modeled'Mona Lisa' for da Vinci's icon.
After 2.5 hours and a delicious portion of Florentine ice cream on us, you will know your way around town and have a mental map of the places you want to visit if you have more time. Your guide will also give you a lot of advice and restaurant recommendations to help you plan the next days of your trip.
