Introduction to the history of the Japanese tea ceremony: Experience a traditional ceremony in Kyoto!
You can learn the Japanese tea ceremony from a tea master with a certificate from the Urasenke School. History, the spirits of the tea ceremony and how the guests should move in a tea room are explained in fluent English.
The quality of the powdered green tea is guaranteed and produced by Ippodo Tea Shop. The tea is produced by the host, but you will also get the chance to make it yourself.
2 bowls of Matcha tea and a Japanese biscuit (made of sugar and rice powder) are included in this course.
Children can also join in, but we recommend that you attend a private session if you come with a baby as we need a quiet atmosphere in a tea room.
• You can wear a kimono in the tea room. The additional fee is 3800 yen per person. If you want to do so, please come 20-30 minutes before the beginning of the tea ceremony.
