Take a look behind the scenes of the oldest profession in the world in a canal house in the heart of Amsterdam's old red light district
Sit in the window, under real red light, and pose for photos
Learn how prostitutes are respected and protected and how much money they actually earn!
Thousands of people flock to the red light district of Amsterdam every night to see those ladies in their underwear. But while many gape under the red lights, few really know what is going on behind these windows. Get prepared to learn something.
As you walk through glittering bedrooms and bathrooms, you will be surprised at how comfortable and glamorous some of these rooms are. You will also learn how the ladies are looked after and protected in their work, which is legal in Amsterdam.
Sit in a window and pose for photos, lie down on a leopard bedspread, rattle some whips and chains, watch videos with some of the prostitutes and experience what it feels like to be in a room that has more sex toys than the Playboy mansion.
You will leave the museum with a deep knowledge of the oldest profession in the world. And if you are brave enough, you can also expand the collection of confessions on the wall. (Some will really shock you! You were warned...).
Visitors must be at least 18 years of age.
• Entrance to the museum
• Audio guide (available on site for a small extra fee in English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, and Italian)
