From Funchal you drive to Serra d'Água in Ribeira Brava. On the way you have a beautiful view of the dense vegetation and the high mountains. Then you reach the viewpoint Encumeada at 1,007 metres, from where you can enjoy a magnificent view over the valleys, the north and south coast of the island.
You'll continue on a beautiful off-road route with spectacular views over São Vicente, Paúl da Serra and Porto Moniz to the most important and best-known vineyards in the north of the island, located in São Vicente. At a picturesque winery, you will receive a guided tour from the owners, during which the wine making process and wine culture will be explained to you. After the tour you can enjoy a wine tasting with traditional Portuguese cheese, sausages and other snacks.
At the end of the excursion you will visit the highest cliff in Europe, Cabo Girão. With a height of 589 meters it is also known as Madeira's Skywalk. Admire the wonderful panoramic view over the Atlantic, Funchal and Câmara de Lobos.
