Your experience

  • Experience the breathtaking Roman aqueduct in Segovia from the best vantage point
  • Visit two of Segovia's most popular sights - the cathedral and the castle
  • Stroll through the streets of Segovia with your experienced guide and learn more about the city's rich history

Discover Segovia, a real jewel in central Spain and its outstanding attractions. This exciting day trip from Madrid shows you in particular the monastery castle El Escorial, which is also called the "eighth wonder of the world" by the Spaniards.

You will meet your guide in the centre of Madrid, where you will board a private, air-conditioned minibus for your transfer to Segovia. Soon you'll walk under the medieval city walls and enter the breathtaking Alcázar, a medieval castle that will be familiar to any Disney movie. The building served as a model for the castle of Cinderella. Thanks to your guide you will get a complete tour of the castle and learn more about the old dynasties.

Next you will see Segovia Cathedral, one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in Europe. Your guide will take you to the highlights before you go on a short stroll through the narrow, winding streets of Segovia, passing the beautiful church of San Martín and the bizarre facade of the Casa de los Picos. Finally, you will reach the Roman aqueduct, whose construction dates back almost 2000 years, and listen to the history of the Roman conquest on the Iberian Peninsula.

After a lunch break you will drive to El Escorial, the former residence of the kings of Spain. The monastery castle will impress you with its incredible beauty. See its captivating rooms and learn how it was built by the Catholic Church, a visionary king and with the help of a flood of gold from America. The highlight of your visit is the Pantheon of Kings, a huge chamber with the coffins of 26 kings and queens from the Habsburg and Bourbon dynasties. Your tour lasts 1.5 hours and includes the Basilica and the private apartments of members of the Royal Family. Then get back on the bus and drive back to Madrid for one hour.
