  • Enter the cathedral of Toledo and enjoy a complete tour with your experienced guide
  • Visit one of the windmills made famous by Don Quixote and taste cheese and wine

You will meet your guide in the centre of Madrid, from where you will set off on the one-hour drive to Toledo. During the drive through the beautiful landscape your guide will tell you about the history of the city. Stop outside the city at a viewpoint for outstanding souvenir photos. See the breathtaking San Martin Bridge, which has been the most picturesque way to Toledo since the 14th century.

Stroll through the medieval streets, past the monastery of San Juan de los Reyes, before entering an artisan sword production. The city was a center of steel processing around 500 BC and equipped real warriors and literary warriors like the famous Don Quixote. Go behind the scenes to learn more about the centuries-old techniques used to create functional works of art.

Next stop is the cathedral of Toledo, probably the most beautiful gothic church of Spain and one of the most impressive in Europe. Let your guide guide you through this architectural masterpiece, which houses paintings by masters like El Greco. Then visit the tower of San Ildefonso, the highest viewpoint in Toledo, which offers a breathtaking 360-degree view of the city and the nearby Alcázar.

This is followed by a lunch break, after which you will drive into the countryside to admire the famous windmills of La Mancha. These windmills became famous in the 17th century when they were fictitiously attacked by the wandering knight Don Quixote. Enter the only working windmill in the area and learn about its literary significance and the function it once had in the city. In a small restaurant in the windmill you can taste Manchego cheese with a glass of wine, beer or a soft drink before returning to Madrid
