Do you like raisins? Then you cannot leave the Axarquia without tasting the best raisins in the world. Muscat raisins in the Axarquía are characterised by their large size and intense sweetness. It is an exquisite, healthy food that is listed by the FAO as a Global Important Heritage System. We will give you the opportunity to dive deep into the villages in the hinterland of the Axarquia and learn all the secrets of this delicious food first hand.
Our first stop will be an Andalusian Cortijo, with breathtaking views and a traditional raisin production system, where you will see for yourself how they are made and meet a local family producing raisins for a living. They will show you all the tools they need to do their job and of course you will taste their sweet product!
Next stop is Almáchar, capital of the Muscat grape and an important stop on our route. We will visit their beautiful streets and of course the Museo de la Pasa (Raisin Museum), where we will learn a little more about this product and see old tools used to pick it. The museum is located in a typical old house of La Axarquía. So you can see how the people lived in this area.
After the visit to Almachar we will drive you to El Borge, in the heart of the raisin route. We will take a tour of its beautiful streets, where we will find many references to this type of cultivation, the main economic support of this village.
Finally we drive to Moclinejo, a modest little village surrounded by mountains, where we will enjoy a delicious meal and taste the local gastronomy. You will travel in a small group of maximum 8 people, without haste and stress. This guarantees that you will simply have a nice day to learn about our culture and traditions.

A moderate amount of walking is involved. Therefore, please bring comfortable shoes and willingness to walk with.

Bring a water bottle and if you are coming in hot months make sure you use sunscreen. Most of our outdoor trips, so it is very important to protect yourself from the sun.

Cancellation of a paid reservation confirmed by Oletrips will result in a non-refundable administration fee of 10% of the total amount.
