Description

Explore nine decks in the impressive International Maritime Museum. Meet pirates, learn how captains master navigation, take the wheel of a ship on a sailing simulator and get in touch with Hamburg's amazing past!

Ten years ago, the oldest preserved warehouse building in Hamburg's harbour became the museum for the world's largest private maritime collection.

And today you can anchor in the International Maritime Museum in the port of Hamburg's former oceanic treasures. Take some time to learn more about navigation and communication, the journey through maritime progress from antiquity to the 20th century and even meet some pirates!

Watch a time-lapse movie showing the construction of a giant ship. See flags and models of pilot ships and lighthouses. Try the Ship Simulator to see what it's like to take the helm and don't miss the Queen Mary II, which is made up of nearly a million LEGO bricks.
