Take a guided tour of Prague's new town
Let a guide bring you closer to Wenceslas Square and to the quiet side of the district
Immerse yourself in history and admire impressive architecture
Explore Prague's new town, founded in the 14th century by King Charles IV. Thanks to his special devotion, this city became the greatest medieval urban work of its time - and you will get to know it alongside a qualified guide.
The main market square alone was larger than an average medieval town. Learn how the open spaces in the new town were later developed and how its appearance changed. However, you will not only see the famous Wenceslas Square and its immediate surroundings. Instead, your guide will bring you closer to the picturesque, quiet side of the district. Listen to the stories told by the wide facades of the houses. The small summer palace of Count Michna with its green garden hides beneath the magnificent houses. Today the Antonin Dvorak Museum is housed here. On request you can visit the charming exhibition and the small concert hall for a small entrance fee.
Along the way you can see the green sides of the district: the garden of the psychiatric clinic, the cascade garden over Albertov, the small park in Karlov or the 3.5-hectare botanical garden. Marvel at old churches from that time and let us tell you more about their history. When you look at the impressive buildings such as the Charles University Institutes, the Children's Hospital or the Historical Maternity Hospital, it is hard to imagine that a famous Prague spelunke once stood here, which counted as the favourite place of the Prague underworld.
The meeting point will be arranged individually. Your guide will be happy to pick you up.
Kateřinská zahrada is only open from Monday to Friday. The Antonin Dvorak Museum is closed on Mondays. The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and St. Charles the Great is only open shortly before the service on Sundays.
