In the heart of beautiful Lisbon, the Alcântara district, there is an entertaining interactive centre, right on and inside Lisbon Bridge 25 de Abril! This stunning architectural triumph was built in 1966 and connects Lisbon to Almada via the Tagus.
Originally named after Salazar, the head of the dictatorship, it was renamed 25 de Abril Bridge to celebrate a much acclaimed regime change after the Carnation Revolution of 1974.
The bridge experience of Pilar 7 in one of its columns tells you the history of the bridge via multimedia, virtual reality and much more. From a vantage point you have an incomparable view of Lisbon and the river.
