Would you like to explore the lesser known side of Havana's bay? Then explore it on a nocturnal private e-bike tour with an expert guide.
Our guide awaits you with the e-bikes in the months from April to September at 19:00 and in the months from October to March at 18:00 in the park Mariana Grajales. It was named after the mother of General Antonio Maceo (1845-96), a hero of the Revolution. After a brief introduction to the bikes, the adjustment to the individual's height, the information about the state of Cuban roads, followed by information about the rules in Cuban urban traffic, you start with the e-bikes in the direction of Bahia de La Habana.
Means of transport in Cuba are usually different than you are used to, you will quickly notice this. The route with our e-bikes leads us over the water on the partly forgotten side of the pulsating metropolis La Habana into the center of the Santeria and the former slave trade in the dusk. This eastern part of the Bahia de La Habana has preserved most of its charm of originality and is hardly visited by tourists because many do not even know how to reach this part of Habana. Be prepared for an adventure on rather unusual routes.
This route will fill you with impressions of the authentic Cuban everyday life. You will learn how the metropolis protected itself from attacks from outside in the past. On the other side of the fascinating metropolis La Habana, much of its history has been preserved. Stops at some of the most famous and also less known highlights are of course an integral part of this extraordinary route. The view of Havana with its sea of lights will fascinate you. The city seems to be quite different in the dark.
We start in the direction of La Rampa and drive along the former Hilton, which got the name Habana Libre shortly after the revolution, and the Hotel Nacional, where the Mafia was mostly at home. Along the Malecon, which, as many say, is the most beautiful promenade in the world, we head towards the ferry terminal of La Habana. There we take a Lanchita, as the Cubans affectionately call their harbour ferries, which are almost only used by Cubans. This takes us to the other side of Bahia. We also visit the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Regla, if it is still open.
The impressions we gather on the way around the Bahia towards El Cristo will remain unforgettable. El Cristo is waiting for us, a view of La Habana that is second to none. We have the opportunity to see the Comandancia del Che with its original furniture, which can only be seen from the outside at this time of day. Then we go to the Fortaleza de San Carlos de la Cabaña and the Castillo de los Tres Reyes del Morro. In Casablanca we then take the Lancha direction La Habana.
Back in the metropolis we will have a small refreshment and some finger food. After that we will have a short excursion through the metropolis, which appears completely different under moonlight, on the way towards our starting point.
