Description

Have you ever wondered what life was like on a sailing ship? Set your anchor on the museum ship Rickmer Rickmers and explore the ship built in 1896. Learn more about his travels, see what life was like on board and travel back in time!

Captain Hermann-Hinrich Ahlers left Bremerhaven for Hong Kong as early as 1896. On board this voyage were two rowers, a cook, a carpenter, a sailmaker and a donkey (yes, a donkey!), 14 sailors and four ship's boys. They sailed across stormy seas to return with rice and bamboo

Find out what everyday life is like on board the Rickmer Rickmers, one of the most popular attractions in the port of Hamburg. Wander through the halls and decks of a real historic ship, whose wooden beams tell stories and enjoy the atmosphere!

The displays and reconstructions are designed to make you feel like you're really sailing, but luckily you can get out at any time - and never get wet.
