  • Learn more about the important landmark India Gate

Description

After picking up at your hotel, your first stop is the breathtaking 17th century Red Fort, also known as Lal Qil'ah or Lal Qila. Afterwards you can explore the walled city of Old Delhiden and the fortress complex built by the Mughal Emperor Akbar. The fortress complex served as the capital of the Mogul states until 1857, when the Mogul Emperor Bahadur Shah Zafar was exiled by the British Indian government.

Afterwards we continue to the Jama Masjid, the largest and most famous mosque in India. This was commissioned by the Mogul emperor Shah Jahan, who also had the Taj Mahal built. After a stop at the Raj Ghat, the monument to Mahatma Gandhi, visit the India Gate. Originally known as "All India War Memorial", this landmark commemorated the 90,000 soldiers of the British Indian Army who lost their lives in the First World War and the Afghanistan Wars.

In Qutub Minar you will visit the highest brick minaret in the world. The construction of the amazing building began in 1193 on the orders of the first Muslim ruler of India, Qutb-ud-din Aibak. Take some time to explore Humayun's tomb. While driving through the impressive Diplomatic Zone, you can sit back and enjoy the view of the President's House and Parliament building.
