From the meeting point you walk two blocks until you reach the southern end of Puerto Madero, where you cross the dam and walk along the bank opposite the town. This quarter is the most modern in the city and consists of skyscrapers and exclusive restaurants and hotels. You reach Puente de la Mujer, a swing bridge designed by the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava, which represents a couple dancing tango.
You cross the bridge to take the road on the opposite bank and go to Avenida Belgrano. Then turn into Avenida Paseo Colón and after three blocks you will reach the historic Plaza de Mayo, where you will visit the Metropolitan Cathedral. Among other things, you will also visit the Cabildo, the beautiful colonial town hall, the Casa Rosada and the exclusive President's House. Your guide will inform you about the numerous historical and social events at this place.
On the other side of the square you will take the Diagonal Norte, an important avenue of the city connecting the Judiciary (Supreme Court) with the Executive (Casa Rosada, the Presidential House). You will reach the famous obelisk of Buenos Aires, the icon of the city, in the centre of 9 de Julio Avenue, the widest in the world.
You cross this avenue and go through it two blocks further to reach the Teatro Colón. The Opera House is considered one of the five best in the world for its size, acoustics and trajectory.
We then continue into the Teatro Colón for a guided tour of the spectacular site. There you will visit the hall, the main foyer, the busts gallery and the Golden Hall. You can record amazing details about architecture, stairs, sculptures, ceilings and Vitraux. After a 50-minute visit, the tour ends at the theatre door.
Last stop is the MALBA Museum. In front of the theatre, take a public bus to Palermo, where the MALBA (Museum of Latin American Art of Buenos Aires) is located. The museum was founded in September 2001 with the aim of collecting, preserving, studying and disseminating Latin American art from the beginning of the 20th century to the present day. It shows a heritage of some 400 works by the region's most important modern and contemporary artists. The tour ends with admission to the museum, which is included in the price. There you have the opportunity to walk at your own pace and take the time to observe each room and the various exhibitions.
