On this tour you will get an insight into the different religious backgrounds and the architectural history of Yangon.
First you visit the Chinese temple Kheng Hock Keong in Chinatown. This temple was founded in 1861 by the Hokkien community during the reign of Qing Emperor Xianfeng. After a short transfer to Pansodan Road, we offer you a short walk through the old business district of Yangon. There you will see the most beautiful colonial buildings in Southeast Asia: abandoned colonial administration buildings that are part of the Yangon City Heritage List, such as the Myanmar Port Authority Building or the old Accountant General's Office. Then your guide will take you to the pier, where you can experience the bustling life on the Yangon River.
Return to Pansodan Road for a cup of tea at one of Rangoon's most popular restaurants, the Rangoon Tea House. Inspired by traditional tea houses, this place offers not only excellent cuisine, but also a variety of local teas to choose from.
To experience the vibrant and fun life of downtown from a different perspective, board a local bus and travel to Little India. Upon arrival you will visit the Hindu temple of Shri Kali. It was built in 1971 by Tamil migrants, while the former Burma was part of British India. In addition, it is known for its colorful architecture.
During a walk through the city centre, the tour guide shows and explains local shops such as betel nut, lottery or sewing salesman. Around noon you will take an adventurous ride on the famous circular train back to Yangon Central Station. You will then be dropped off at your hotel.
