After you have been picked up at your hotel near Inle-Sees, you drive by car to Kakku. Located in the heart of Shan State, the Kakku Pagoda complex awaits you with over 2000 stupas, most of which were built in the 16th century. Your guide will give you an introduction to the history and legends surrounding the Kakku Pagoda.
Then you will explore Htan Phaya, a village where you will visit a cave with numerous pictures of Shan Buddhas of different sizes. On the way back you will pass Taunggyi, the capital of Shan State. There you will have the opportunity to meet the Pa-Oh people, the second largest ethnic group in Shan State.
