What is a dervish?
A dervish is a Sufi, a member of the Mevlevi Order.
And what is a Sufi?
A Sufi is a mystic who tries to find divine truth and love directly with God. The so-called Sufism is a centuries-old Islamic current of the followers of the poet Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi from Konya in the 13th century. He is best known for addressing acceptance and tolerance in his teachings and poems. The Sufi community developed religious practices that focused on human self-control, allowing both mental and mystical insights and a loss of the self with the goal of mystical union with God.
The show takes place daily at 19:30.
