Reviews for this offer

good

The guided tour through Kreuzberg was very informative and exciting. Some details (e.g. the museum) might not have been necessary, but one gets a very good impression of the character of the district. Our guide led us through Kreuzberg in a committed and competent manner.

great

Well thought-out tour through the 'wild' Kreuzberg. About 2 hours with a break in Markthalle 9. The 'other' Bergmannskiez Kreuzberg in comparison would be good, but probably too spacious and too long With our group of 20 people there were even 2 tour guides Was understandable for our group of German learners, sometimes also English translations, was very well received.

good

Only the Görlitzer park in the dark does not have to be again ;) :D

We have chosen the "Wildes Kreuzberg" city park walk for our company outing. We have absolutely no regrets about the choice. The guide was great. Many insights gained and many new things taken along. I can only recommend this tour.

Did the walk with half my school class. For the young people, the walk was a little too long, although it had already been shortened. For me it was very informative and a journey into the past

good

Friendly company with interesting information. Could also be offered somewhat shorter.

The tour was led individually, adaptations were always welcome. Even with six children no problem!

Markus guided us (family) three hours on foot through Berlin Kreuzberg and showed us many places and things we would never have seen or found. That was absolutely awesome. We have learned a lot about the history and life in Kreuzberg. Markus has a well-founded and broad knowledge which he humorously imparted to us. We can highly recommend the tour.

Description

But we do not walk through the "chic Kreuzberg", meanwhile already a bit snobbish. No, we show the multicultural Kreuzberg - colourful & shrill.

The SO36 tour leads through the "wild" Kreuzberg.

We start at Kottbuser Tor, where Kreuzberg everyday life meets a colourful neighbourhood culture. Turkish market, Arabic restaurants and bistros, chic cafes and alternative clubs and bars gather around the square, which is shared by the elevated railway of the famous Line 1

Past Wilhelminian style houses and the huge architecture of the "Sozialpalast", a 70s residential building, we approach the pulsating Oranienstraße, the heart of the former postal delivery area SO36, after which the neighbourhood is still named today

Here restaurants line up alongside bars and shops with the typical Kreuzberg charm: Arabic cafés next to restaurants with international cuisine next to legendary bars and clubs such as the "Franken", the "SO36", the "Roses" and "Zum Elefanten". There is a lot to discover here. The Berlin Institute for the Blind with its own shop or the Museum of Things, comic book shops or fashion stores. And there's always something going on here.

The tour continues over Heinrich-Platz past the "Schokoladen" women's centre to Mariannenplatz, where Künstlerhaus Bethanien (a former hospital) is located. Next door in the "Rauchhaus" there are remains of the former squatter scene, as well as in Bethanien itself

Now we continue to Görlitz Park, where some buildings of the historic Görlitz train station are located. Around the corner, through Falckensteinstraße, our way leads to the Oberbaumbrücke, which symbolically connects East and West Berlin

On the eastern side of the bridge is the "East Side Gallery", the largest surviving piece of the Berlin Wall, decorated with numerous pictures by international artists.

Highlights:

  • Kottbus Gate / South Block Adalbertstraße

  • Kreuzberg Museum

  • Oranienstraße / Workshop for the blind

  • Museum of things / SO36 / Oranienhöfe

  • Museum of things / SO36 / Oranienhöfe

  • Mariannenplatz / former hospital Bethanien- Künstlerhaus

  • Fontane pharmacy / Georg-von-Rauch-Haus ("smoke house")

  • Görlitz Park - former Görlitz railway station

  • Falckensteinstraße / Schlesische Straße

  • Schlesisches Tor (U1)

Please note
