Your experience

  • Experience a wonderful day in Trinidad on an e-bike and learn all about the history and development
  • Discover the most beautiful places of the city and the surrounding area with your private tour guide
  • Enjoy the national drink of Trinidad - Chanchànchara and a delicious local meal at noon

Immerse yourself in the time of explorers, pirates, slaves and sugar barons and learn more about the time then and the life today. On the back of your electric bike you will explore the city and of course visit the beaches of Trinidad.

Your tour guide will be waiting for you by e-bike at 10 am in the district of Trinidad called Casilda at the intersection of Calle Real and Diego Velázquez. There you will find a small kiosk where Guide is already waiting for you and you will be recognized directly by the e-bike and a Cubyke sign or T-shirt. (Alternatively, for closed groups an individual meeting point can be arranged with us)

After a short introduction to the bikes, the adjustment to the individual body size, the education about the condition of the Cuban roads, followed by information about the rules in Cuban road traffic, the e-bikes go on a tour of discovery.

First, cycle through the World Heritage Site Trinidad, which was founded by Diego Velazquez in 1514 as the 3rd settlement in Cuba. The initially rapid development of Trinidad is due to the gold discoveries at the Rio Guaruabo. To better understand the history of the city, you will pass through important suburbs of the city, where you will certainly be admired more often, as Cubans are quite fond of modern means of transportation

Pass through Playa Ancón and Playa La Boca, where the explorer Hernan Cortez came in 1519 for provisions and equipment on his voyage of discovery (to discover Mexico) and where even today from the small fishing port the local fishermen go out in their small boats to hunt barracudas, pargo, tuna and marlin. Time seems to have simply stood still here, except for the hotel complexes and the beach bars, little changed along the beach road

Feel the breeze of the Caribbean Sea and drive along the Bahia Casilda where, depending on the water level and season, many water birds cavort, until the port of Trinidad, which was moved there to participate in the business of gold and slave ships commuting between America and Spain. Curse and blessing at the same time brought this time in which one not only successfully made trade with dubious figures, but also became the target of pirate attacks.

After a detour to the pier for cruise ships, you can refresh yourself in a bar and learn more about the current living conditions of Cubans. Then it continues to the view of the Valle de Ingenios, the valley of the sugar mills, which like the city of Trinidad itself is recognized and protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Slowly but surely you will reach the centre of the magnificent town. Around the Plaza Mayor, you will once again be impressed by the testimonies of the wealth of the sugar barons through the unique, almost originally preserved historic old town and the city palaces of the wealthy plantation owners. On the stairs next to the Iglesia de La Santisma of the largest church in Cuba, live music is often played and diagonally opposite, Alexander von Humboldt also stayed overnight in 1801 on one of his research trips.

Also historically vouched for and original is the "national drink" of Trinidad the Chanchànchara, which you can taste in the bar of the same name, while a delicious fortifying meal is prepared and hopefully served for you

After a short break, roam the cobblestone streets of Trinidad, visit the old Trinidad railway station with some magnificent steam locomotives and perhaps a small lesson in steam-lock driving. Afterwards you glide back to the starting point completely silently and perhaps with a heavy heart, even if you would like to explore all corners of Trinidad for hours. At the end of a surely extraordinary tour you have the opportunity to let the impressions of the day pass back to you with a Scheidebier, a Refresco a la cubano, a cocktail or whatever you want to enjoy
