Your experience

Description

Remember how amazing you felt when all the change failed (if you were lucky?)? Games have come a long way - and you will see just how far a visit to the Computerspielemuseum in Berlin can take you. Take a tour with Lara Croft, play classics like Pong, PainStation and Pacman on a giant joystick and learn about the history of games, from arcades and slot machines to Atari.

Your inner computer freak will love to see rare originals that are still working. Once Lara Croft welcomes you, you will meet Nimrod, the first computer designed exclusively for one game, and wander through an exhibition of over 300 games and computer-related items.

On this fantastic journey through the 21st century, you'll see how far we've come from coin-operated machines, to the Tamagotchi (the digital chicken from the 1990s), to Grand Theft Auto IV and more. You'll learn more about the people who introduced games into our lives and homes, and laugh and show how clunky things look on the wall of hardware. We are talking about Apple II, Commodore PET, Atari and Vectrex. You remember that?

Of course you do, but you're here to play and remember. Test your skills in Game & Watch, a 1980 Nintendo electronic LCD game, Donkey Kong, Asteroids and even Space Invaders. And if you're brave enough, try the famous PainStation, which punishes you for a bad pong move. You might want to clear everything else from your schedule for the day!
