Your experience

Description

Lower your shields and park your horses. It is time to enter a world of ancient mythology, jewellery, design and symbolic awards and merits from all corners of the globe at the Tallinn Museum of Order of Knighthood. Some of them you will have heard of but never seen.

Imagine the life of a knight as you approach the Most Noble Order of the Garter - the highest order of knighthood in Britain and the oldest order of knighthood in the world. Look at the coveted splendour founded by King Edward III in the mid-12th century as a symbolic revival of King Arthur's Round Table. It's like a legend comes to life.

The Royal Order of Seraphim, also known as the Blue Ribbon, is still one of the most prestigious awards. Experience the rare insignia that are only given to members of ruling houses and other heads of state who receive their own coat of arms from the order.

Speaking of epic awards, imagine yourself taking part in an elaborate medieval ceremony before receiving the Order of Honour of the Bath. This British order of knights, founded in 1725 by King George I, really required new knights to first take a bath (only, none of them ever did!).

Would you like proof that diamonds are a girl's best friend? Look at the huge diamond studded badge of the Order of the White Eagle. Originally awarded to Peter the Great in 1712, it was also used by Catherine the Great of Russia to decorate the Diamond Room - her bedroom.

Really fascinating and a real reward for anyone who loves to combine history with a little imagination.
