Description

There is safety in numbers, so get close to your group and prepare for an exciting journey into the life of the world's most famous vampire - Dracula. Or rather, the life of the Wallachian ruler Vlad the Impaler, who served as inspiration for the vampire character.

This full day tour through castles, monasteries and some of the most beautiful landscapes in Romania explores the places and legends associated with the "real" Dracula.

Learn the quirks of Vlad the Impaler, the infamous sadistic ruler and his castle, and learn how he dodged the Turks in 1462 through fanciful tales told by your guide.

Marvel at the Curtea de Arges and its revolving towers, see where the princes are to be crowned and learn the facts behind one of the most breathtaking monasteries in southern Romania. In Targoviste you will feel part of history in the ruins of the former royal court. Here, in the 15th century, Vlad Ţepeş held his princely court.

On the way back to Bucharest you stop at Lake Vidraru, an artificial lake with a sunken village on the bottom. You might also recognize the famous Transfagarasan Road. It has been named "the most beautiful street in the world" by Top Gear. We're sure that Vlad would have agreed
