Your experience

The Palermo Gallery of Modern Art looks back on more than a hundred years of history and is packed with masterpieces such as large-format paintings by Giuseppe Sciuti, naturalistic works by Antonio Leto, Art Nouveau by Ettore De Maria Bergler and much more!

Here in one of the most impressive and important galleries of Palermo there is much to discover. Browse 214 works of art, including 176 paintings and 38 sculptures, representing some of the best modern art in Italy by local and international artists

All the pieces on display are intended to reflect the ever-changing trends in fashion and taste in Italy at the beginning of the 20th century. It is also a rather unique building, so you might want to stay for a coffee in the café afterwards.

Henri Cartier-Bresson (21 October 2017 - 25 February 2018)

Henri Cartier-Bresson is one of the greatest photographers in history, known for his groundbreaking style of street photography and honest portraits. As an early adopter of 35mm film, he paved the way for countless contemporary photographers, and his work is just as vibrant and exciting today. This new exhibition brings together 140 of Cartier-Bresson's greatest works to immerse the visitor in his world - and tells the story of his life and his groundbreaking technology.

Villa Strohl-Fern (24 March 2018 - 2 September 2018)

Browse around 60 paintings by Francesco Trombadori from the years 1915-1961, which come from important public and private collections in Italy. Drawings, books, exhibition catalogues and newspaper articles, some of which are inspired by his home town of Siracusa, from the "Archivio dell'artista" (Artists' Archive) in Trombadori's study in the Villa Strohl-Fern.
