  • Take advantage of an unusual route, rich in history and culture, with a wonderful view of Rome
  • Try typical Roman food and a great Italian aperitif

If you also want to discover the hidden treasures of the Eternal City, then this tour is just right for you. Explore the hidden places with your local guide and walk from the banks of the Tiber to the Aventino Hill. The Aventino is the southernmost of the seven hills on which Rome was founded in the 8th century BC. Since the hill was not easy to reach, the monks and knights built their sanctuaries here.

Enjoy an authentic experience, see the great historical sites of Rome and relax at the end of the walk with a glass of wine and typical Roman food.

At the foot of the Aventino hill you will meet your guide and start your tour along a panoramic path that leads to the top of the hill. The ascent is very gentle, so you can enjoy a leisurely walk with a wonderful view of the Tiber and the city. Arriving at the Aventino Hill you will first visit the orange gardens "Giardino degli Aranci". From there you have a fantastic view of the imposing St. Peter's Basilica. Also visit the SS. Alessio e Bonifacio, the first of the medieval basilicas of the 4th century BC. The magnificent sculptures and mosaics, and the medieval cloister will transport you to another time.

Afterwards you will explore the Square of the Knights of Malta, from where you can discover one of the most famous paintings of all Rome. From the sluice of the arcades you can see the dome of St. Peter's in all its splendour and with the green outline of the high hedges of the garden, which creates a magical setting that will be remembered for a long time. If the queue is not too long, you also have the possibility to have a look at this unique visual effect from the castle.

The next stop on your walk will be the Basilica of Santa Sabina, whose high aisles and impressive apse with its frescoes are well worth a visit. It then goes down the Aventino again towards the Circus Maximus, which has been a venue for circus games since the city was founded.

Finally, it is time to taste the coordinated Roman delicacies. Enjoy a culinary break, with a typical Italian Aperativo. Take the opportunity to talk to your friendly guide and review your impressions once again. Your tour ends at the foot of the Palatine Hill, where you can decide whether to continue exploring the area or visit completely new places in Rome.
