Very interesting tour with a competent guide. It was a pity that the guide did not inform us that one can only go directly from the Vatican museums to St.

The lead was very good, it was exactly the line driven where the participant also explained what was explained and conveyed well could pick up and keep. There was no death talk of the participants, where after a certain time the system is switched off.

Many thanks to Christina for her competence and her extensive knowledge. We have learned and experienced so much that we could never have read to ourselves before. We found the guidance in the small group (with us 9 pers.) perfect for us and can only recommend it.

Many thanks for the great and interesting tour! We have learned and experienced many things that are not so detailed in any travel guide. Unfortunately our small group tour with max. 12 persons did not take place. But we could take part in another guided tour with 15 people and did not have to pay any admission fee for it. Probably the other tour was cheaper overall, but the tour fully compensated us. Paola was really great! We started a little bit later, but Paola was behind. In any case we would book a guided tour about enjoy Rome again.

Very interesting tour with a competent guide. It was a pity that the guide did not inform us that one can only go directly from the Vatican museums to St. Peter's with the group. Since we wanted to enjoy the Vatican museums a little longer, we left the group in front of the Sistine Chapel. The guide explained to us where we had to queue in St. Peter's Cathedral for the dome ascent. She did not mention at all that we cannot enter St. Peter's from the Sistine Chapel alone. So we had to queue for St. Peter's for over an hour. We actually wanted to deal with this with the booked tour.

I felt well taken care of and also competently guided. As with most tours, there is simply too little time available, but all in all I was satisfied and would always recommend "joyrom" to others. Thank you very much, sir.

Your experience

Description

On this interesting Vatican tour you will visit the most important sights of Vatican City and one of the most beautiful museums in the world!

You will get to know the smallest state in the world, the Vatican, with only 0.44 square kilometres. Your knowledgeable guide will bring you closer to the history, architecture and secrets of the Vatican with lots of insider information. With their extraordinary works of art and paintings, the Vatican Museums are among the most interesting museums in the world.

Your tour highlights: Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's Basilica.

You avoid having to queue for hours at the ticket office, i.e. without any holiday stress you can discover the Vatican Museums and the most famous of all chapels, the Sistine Chapel, with the beautiful frescoes by Michelangelo, including the master's most famous fresco, the Last Judgement, which occupies an entire wall of the chapel.

The centuries-old history of St. Peter's is almost tangible. The countless figures and frescoes seem to tell their own stories and point to such important architects as Bramante, Raphael and Michelangelo, who created one of the most impressive buildings in the world. This largest basilica of world Christianity offers a lot of artistically important sights: among others Michelangelo Buonarotti's Pietà, the venerable statue of Peter in the nave, Bernini's masterpieces as well as the magnificent papal altar above the tomb of Peter.

But the Vatican is not only gold and glory, its history also contains dark chapters of seduction, lust and corruption! Be curious what your travel guide has to tell you. After the tour you can continue to explore the Eternal City on your own

The audio devices with small headphones guarantee that you really hear all the explanations, even when the museums are very full.

Tip: after the tour you can also climb the dome of St. Peter's Cathedral. The 510 steps (only 320 steps with the elevator) are not few, but you will be rewarded with a fantastic view over the city.

The tour ends in St. Peter's Basilica or St. Peter's Square, outside the walls of the Vatican. It is therefore not possible to stay in the museum on your own after the tour, or you will have to pay admission again.

Please note

Additional information

The entry to the Vatican is NOT included and must be paid in cash to the guide (done in the office of the supplier) before entry (additional 24€ per person).
Please do not get the tickets in advance. You have to buy them at the office of the vendor on the day of the tour.
The tour cannot be combined with the Vatican tickets from the Omnia Pass or the Roma Pass.

The Raphael's punches are not visited during this public tour. Please book a private tour if you wish to do so.

The rush is always very high: in the high season, unfortunately, up to 25,000 and more visitors are admitted per day, in total, about 5.5 million people visit the Vatican Museums every year The best time to visit the museums is therefore from 15.11. to 15.3. approx.

Reduced tickets can only be issued upon presentation of identification

We recommend small luggage: water bottles and large backpacks must be locked away when entering the museums. At the end of the tour you have to walk from St. Peter's Square outside the Vatican wall back to the museum (about 10 minutes) Or you can leave your rucksack or larger bags at the Enjoy Rome reception office (please note: we close at 16.30 hrs; lunch break from 14.00-15.00 hrs)

There is a strict dress code in St. Peter's: knees and shoulders must be covered, male visitors must wear long trousers. St. Peter's is closed on Wednesdays between 8 and 12 a.m. for Holy Mass and cannot be visited.

In exceptional cases it may happen that St. Peter's Basilica and St. Peter's Square cannot be visited because of papal audiences or masses. If this happens, you can alternatively spend more time in the Vatican Museums. Unfortunately, it can happen from time to time that we are only informed of masses in St. Peter's at the last minute. Your guide will then show you the punches of the Raffael, for example

Unfortunately the tour is not wheelchair accessible. The tour is also not suitable for prams.

The price does not include

  • - Entrance fee for the Vatican Museums. Young people up to 18 years and students under 26 years (with valid international student card) pay 16 Euro per person
  • - Ticket reservation fee and the audio equipment: a total of 24 euros per person (to be paid on site)

Meeting point

15 minutes before the start of the tour in via Vespasiano 46B.

Cancellation Conditions

This deal can be cancelled for free up to 2 days before the date of the activity.
